INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon cornstarch 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup cold water 2 cups sugared sliced fresh peaches (for canned or frozen peaches us 1/2 cup syrup for water) 1 cup fresh blueberries 1 tablespoon butter or margarine 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup milk 1/4 cup soft butter |

DIRECTIONS |

Mix first 3 ingredients; add fruits. Cool and stir till mixture thickens. Add 1 tablespoon butter and lemon juice. Pour into round ovenware cake dish. Mix dry ingredients. Add milk and butter all at once; beat smooth. Pour over fruit. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with milk or ice cream.
